Question Sirius Issues - New Channel Lineup

Sirius implemented a new channel lineup today (2/14/07) which was supposed to make the receiver update for a few minutes (according to the Sirius website).

My non-MB standalone Sirius unit updated the channel lineup in about 15 seconds, but my 2006 E500 COMAND has been "acquiring signal" for a LONG time (over several tries it's been 30+ mins) and it seems like it hasn't taken the update well. To clarify, during this time, I can not hear anything. I know that there are issues with the screen saying "acquiring signal" but the music can be heard, but in my case, there is no music while it is "acquiring".

Has anyone else had problems after the new channel lineup update? Or perhaps I should ask, has anyone successfully gotten the update to take and have a working COMAND for Sirius satellite?

I can switch to radio or CD, etc...so the COMAND as a whole works but going back to satellite in COMAND, I just get the "acquiring signal" msg and it just seems stuck there. I have turned off the car and COMAND and restarted and it hasn't seemed to resolve. Any suggestions?

No problems with the update this morning. It took a couple of minutes. The issue you describe did happen to me once before. After about thirty minutes, I had reached my destination. So I shut off the car and called Sirius. They were not helpful. They told me my antenna must be broken. Anyway, I restarted the car and all was fine.

Thanks. I'll give it a day or two of commute driving (30 mins on and off) and hope that it'll take. (fingers crossed).

No problems for me. The email said it would take around 5 minutes to update. I think it took all of 1 or 2.

Yeah my other sirius unit (non-MB) took 15 seconds or less to update.

Well...go figure. I get in my car after work and immediately, when I choose "SAT" it's playing and doesn't even need to acquire data anymore. I guess the "cooling off" during the day helped it!
