Blackberry 8703e Bluetooth
A little use of the search tool would have answered the question on the antenna as well. In the U.S. MHI cellular setup, unless your device can be inserted into a cradle made specifically to connect it to the car's external antenna, it uses the cellular device's antenna, with the attendant reduction in connectivity. There are several such cradles made, marketed by AWS and by SmoothTalker. The websites and representatives for those companies should be able to answer questions concerning your specific device.
In the European UHI setup, information is downloaded via Bluetooth from the phone's SIM card, and cell equipment built into the car is then used - including the car's antenna.
In the U.S., you have the MHI setup unless your car was specifically modified, or you brought a Euro spec car over.
