also your automatic trans will suffer from lousy shifting if you have the electronic trans
I don't know what your car is - but here is a link to some of the resets one may have to do in some models - see post #14 at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/show...30#post2216730.

hey buddy so what you are saying is i dont need any juice from electric socket to maintain the battery, this CTEK will maintain it self from my cars battery or what? i have no sockets for electric in my garage so there is no way i can maintain my battery. WILL THIS CTEK work for 5 months by it self?

The rate of plate sulfation is proportional to both state of charge and to temperature. Time is a factor, so if a battery is quickly discharged, then recharged, then sulfation is not an issue.
To maximize battery life, ensure a stored battery is fully charged, with the electrolyte level properly maintained. To ensure acceptable battery life, ensure the battery remains above 70% state of charge. A battery will self-discharge about 10% per month, plus any connected loads.
A lead acid battery may be stored indefinitely connected to "float" voltage of 13.8 VDC, by maintaining the electrolyte level.

I have no idea of the physical layout of your place - but I just added two circuits to my (attached) garage last month, and one in the attic for additional lighting, and two more in the interior of the house for lighting effects. If you're not handy or feel unsafe doing that, an electrician is less expensive than a new battery and the problems you may begin to have.
