Yes, I did try a couple of different things, the first being sending the name card. It does say failed, but the phone also requires me to disconnect it first, then do the send of the name card, which seemed kind of odd.
Armed with the part numbers, I'll see what the dealer can do about a swap once I go for service, which will be soon.

New BT and Verizon Treo 650
The new blue tooth part (B6 787 5878) arrived today and it is a VAST improvement with my Verizon Treo 650. Car is a W211.
I was able to place a call via the command unit, answer a call via the steering wheel and the command, my address book is available, caller ID works, and call clarity is excellent. I only spent about 5 minutes testing, but if anything stops working I'll repost.
The only thing that didn't work was signal strength, but after getting everything else, I could care less.
Great job Mercedes and thanks for listening.

Blackberry
Does anyone know if the new module supports blackberry and if it will access the address book. The old module and the blackberry work, but not the address book.

New module doesn't work much better
Just received the new module from dealer on my new W211. Still does not sync phone book or even call history with audiovox 6700. It does work a little better with my samsung but still along ways to go.

Does the new BT module distinguish between different types of contact phone numbers?
The main reason (other than echoes, lack of charging, and external antenna) I don't use my BT module much with my Motorola E815 is that when it downloads the phone book, the icons that distinguish between home/work/mobile all go away and are replaced by one little telephone icon.
Does the new module do the same thing?
Thanks.

This makes it difficult at the dealer when you complain the BT puck and they reply that it is likely the phone. An ordinary customer would have no means to convince the dealer that it is the puck. I have some issues with the Euro puck with some phone models and even if the those phone models work with a new V2 Euro puck, the dealer has no clue what to do and would not swap devices.

E-500
For Clarification
Please forgive the "newbie" speak...
I have a 2003 E-500 with the standard audio system/6 disc CD-changer (no Nav, Sat, etc.).
I do not have the phone cradle, etc., but I do have phone the buttons on the radio and steering wheel. In addition, I've called MB via the little buttons inside the armrest before, so I know that part works.
Will the new part number B6 787 5878 allow me to plug in to the arm rest and program the bluetooth to my cell phone, without having to buy the v60 cradle and all that other jazz.
In otherwords, is the B6 787 5878 the ONLY thing I need to be able to use my bluetooth phone with the E-500?
Thanks for the help...

TREO 680 and new Puck
Has anyone else had this problem, or is everyone elses Treo 680 working all the time with the new puck (unlocked phone on the Rogers network).
Thanks for any ideas!

I got the new version and it did indeed work perfectly with my Treo 680. However, it has started behaving erraticly. The problems always occur when the car is first started and the phone connects. When the problems occur the phone appears to be connected (the command screen says it is connected) but the address book and call history do not down load and when you go to make a call it does not work (it says it is making the call and then gives up and says the call can not be completed).
Has anyone else had this problem, or is everyone elses Treo 680 working all the time with the new puck (unlocked phone on the Rogers network).

The firmware used by your service provider may be the problem. Although it was written to address a broader scope of issues the first post at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/show...26#post2222126 also hits the issue for you. So does the compatibility section of the first post - the "How To Guide" sticky - at the top of this forum.
Having owned various models of Palm handhelds for years I thought that something might be causing a conflict on the Treo. If I delete the "trusted device" and repair it works fine, it seemed to me that this suggested the problem was on the Treo. Furthermore, with both this one and the V60 Puck I had in my 2002 C240 (which worked perfectly all the time), the Treo does not "disconnect" from the car (i.e. even hours after you left the car, if a call happens the Treo tries to use the Bluetooth connection to the car). I thought that if no one else was having this problem I would start removing some of the "extra" software from the Treo to see if something is creating a conflict.
So, if anyone with a Treo 680 has had it working for more than a week without problems, let me know. Otherwise I will start looking for a Smartphone that does work with the car!

Mine has worked perfectly since i got the updated puck...how far away from the car does your phone move when you get out. As long as you are sufficiently distant from the car, mine disconnects...otherwise the first call is the only one that will go to the car, and you hit "cancel bluetooth" on the Treo 680 screen; that permanently severs the connection til it reconnects when you start the car.
I love it!
P.S. my wife has an approved razr, which does the same thing (her office is 6 feet from the car).

Thanks carpersn. That is what I was hoping to hear. It doesn't matter how far from the car I go, the first call thinks it is still connected to Bluetooth. I ht cancel and subsequent calls work fine. I think I will do a hard reset on the Treo and just reinstal what I really need (I was thinking that various utilities and trial software may have changed some settings in either the bluetooth stack or the wireless connections (since the problem occurs when wireless items restart). So - I will try a "stripped down" Treo 680 and see how that works.
