re-installing factory bose system

re-installing factory bose system
i have a 2002 c230k with bose stereo. when i got the car, i had a aftermarket system put in the car by a professional. i have the car torn apart now trying to put the factory system back in place. its not working. anyone have any experience re-installing a bose system?
as it stands right now, the speakers are hooked up from speaker to amp, amp plugged in, head unit plugged in, fiberoptic lines hooked up (i think they are the right ones, and have tried a few variations, as there is more than one) head unit comes on, but no sound.
i have tried both fiberoptic lines behind the center console in the back of the head unit, and on one of them a message on the head unit reads "prod", i dont know what that means.
any help is greatly appriciated. also, the alarm wont sound and it hasn't since the new system was put in. if anyone needs pictures or anything while i have the car torn apart, let me know
