I want to add an amp and sub in the trunk with a line output convertor. Can I tap into these wires for the power and remote wires on the amp? SHould be the same for what goes to this disc changer right?

Anyone know which one is which?

Left is fiber and right is power and both go to your cd changer. Not what you need to accomplish your goal.

So I couldn't tap into that for the power to the amp? I guess fiber controls the CD changer like a remote wire would, correct? Thanks for you help?

I should probably just run a power wire to the battery for the amp?

You don't want to tap that for amp power, I would plug that back in and forget about it. Tap your remote from a switched source in the fuse box and run a seperate power wire for the amp. The car runs on the fiber network and you will have fiber to all of your components such as radio, cd changer, phone, etc. There is nothing that you will need that for in adding the amp to the existing system.

Thanks for your insight, but what do you mean by Tap your remote from a switched source in the fuse box ? And which fuse box, the one up on the front dash when you open the door?

the wires to the cd changer are gnd,12 volts, and MOST wakeup. none will be of any use for hooking up an amplifier as they cannot handle more than 5 amps and there is no switched line.

the ideal solution is to find the factory amplifier (which should be in the trunk on the driver side.). at the amplifier you will find large gauge wires for 12 volts and ground as well as a remote turn on lead. the factory amplifer will have 10 ro 12 gauge wires: good enough for adding a small subwoofer amp. anything bigger will require a direct wire to the battery or power point.

Is this wiring situation true for the bose as well? I was planning on tapping into the cig lighter for a remote lead since that's the closest I can think of (And power straight from the bat.)...
