Phone questions...new owner
I have an '02 E320 with no command, but it does have fiber and a changer in the trunk.
How do I tell what I have already for phone equipment?
I lookd on MBs website and they expect you to sign a deal with the devil to use their phone service.
The ultimate goal would be to be able to plug my phone in and use the stereo/steering wheel controls for it.
Where do I start?
Many thanks...
Any evidence of it there or having been there (holes) is good.
Then there's a PSE unit beside CD changer if phone ever installed. These days the one to get is called "auto sense" I think.
Installation instructions are here, which may give some idea what above is about. They also include installing CD changer and installing voice control, which you can ignore. Also, ignore anything "timeport" and concentrate on "V60."

With this hardware installed, then your (just about) sole alternative is to install the Bluetooth adapter for V60 holder and then match to a compatible V60 phone as detailed at http://www.wirelessformb.com (start with "vehicle compatibility) But, perhaps you can get an old V60 phone somewhere and use it, although many folks find them painfully old fashioned in 2007.
This is what it takes for full Mercedes functionality. There are some aftermarket firms that claim they can do it, too, but have no experience with them and don't wish to.
