v60 puck and v3xx - Phonebook Download?

Hi,

I have the v60 puck and a Motorola v3xx from Cingular.

I have read some posts where people are claiming their phonebook gets downloaded to the car. I have tried everything and I can't get it to do it.

Any help would be appreciated.

We have an 04 E320 with V60 cradle and bluetooth puck, all just installed about a month ago. My wife uses a V3 (Cingular) and the phone book downloads. When you first pair, it may take several minutes for this to happen, depending on how big the phone book is and it may appear that you are not getting the phonebook downloaded. See if a little pateience works.

I have a V3xx (Cingular) and a 2004 S500. Works fine for me (now, that is. I had a lot of problems that were solved by having the cradle replaced under warranty).

One thing you can try looking at: In the phone's menu

Bluetooth link -> Device History -> MB PhoneSystem

I have:
Access: Automatic

Also, I think it only uses the phone's address book, not the SIM card phone book, for downloading to the car.

Christian,

You might try checking with AWS to see which Cingular firmware is compatible with your puck. This sounds like a firmware problem. You may have to flash your phone to a different version (and later versions aren't always more compatible than older ones).

Hi Skylaw,

I thought that might be a possibility, but when I called AWS they told me the phone will not work with the V60 puck. I know that's not the case because my phone is working with the car, I just can't download the phone book, but others are reporting they can. Most likely, as you said, it's a phone firmware version issue. What I don't know is what firmware version might be compatible with the v60 puck and obviously AWS doesn't want to be bothered.

If anyone is using a v3xx with the v60 puck and can download their phone book to the car, would you kindly post your phone's firmware version?

Thanks again, C.

Identical to what I have. Hmmmm. You do have the v60 puck, right, not the MHI puck?

I'll keep trying different things.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Yep, V60 puck.

I know there's two versions of that puck out there. A friend bought one for his 04 SL500 and it had a different part # than mine. I'll look and see what version I have when I get home.

Great. I'd appreciate that very much.

Mine is the same P/N.

Additional info on mine:

M P/N M00BTU 0101 HW:4805 SW:0306

Under the bar code it says MOTU103EU

I imagine "HW:4805" is the hardware version and "SW:0306" is the software version.

Does yours say the same thing?

Thank you.
