You should find an Audio AUX operation menu selection option from your Comand, to switch the AUX input on.

Its really hard to find on my 2004 SL55. Its actually in the SVC menu. Hit SVC button, then scroll down to AUX. If you get into a different screen that says "Send New Request" scroll down to System Settings and scroll down to AUX

Did this work for you? I have an 02 C32 with the same head unit as you pictured and am dying to use my i-pod.

It works fine if you have all the right pieces. Do you have a mini jack in your glove box on the right side? If you do just hit the "SYS" button and scroll over to "AUX" and that is it.

If you do not have the plug you can add it really cheap.
