I ordered it from factory
But you can get it from the dealer (it is actually cheaper that way) I paid £106 (or $150) when ordering the car, but at parts dept found out it was only £68 (or $100), it oks doesn't do anything special, except you can control the whole system from any seat.

I asked some dealers at the States and MB USA if I could buy it.
They don't know even that there is a remote control of COMMAND. It may be available only at Europe?
If someone knows where I can buy it, please post the information.
(I attached some pages of COMMAND Owner's Manual.
This book came from Europe.)

That's the remote I have...
Code A 220 820 28 89, becareful there are two types of remote control one for the Audio 30 and one for the Comand. The code I have given is for the comand. They gave me the wrong one from factory and swapped it for the one I have now.

Viktorious: barflux said it worked with his CLK (on his post subject on reply post), so i think it should work with other models as well..
barflux: just wondering, where the sensor is?
thanks.

I have a EURO COMAND on my US Car so I'm not sure if its exactly the same as the US COMAND. I think the sensor is to the right of the CD insert slot, its a white looking 'bulb.'

clair parts quoted the remote for $178.50 (220-820-28-89) +shipping. and claims that the parts must be ordered.
the price is bit higher than i thought, so i am thinking again..
if anyone interested, contact john at 1-800-354-5100 ext 8969 for detail.

Get it from UK or Europe, only £68+vat or about $110
The UK price I quoted was from two years ago
I think the sensor is the white circle next to where the cd ejects.
Yukpo:
Never bothered to find out, but I will later on and let you know.

Comand Remote Control
If you look in the M Class price list (In-Car Entertainment page), the Remote Control for Comand is listed as Code Number 816..
I am reasonably sure it appears as 816 in all the MB price lists for Comand 2.0 and 2.5.
The price is £106.29 which includes 17.5% VAT (UK tax), thats about $160 US, or $135 without UK tax I guess...

Someone (perhaps Ted Baldwin) posted that all parts available in Europe are orderable from US dealers if you know the part nr (and if the dealer is sensible enough to order it, rather than just saying that the part hasnt been sold in the US).
............I recently ordered the remote control from my dealer in the US. You have to have the part number. Don't even try it without the part number, they will tell you it doesn't exist and you shouldn't smoke too much weed. The item is apparently only available in Germany and will take a while to arrive. Interestingly, my dealer's concern was wether or not the remote is DOT approved. He argued that it was probably not DOT approved otherwise it would have been available in the US. We haggled and finally he gave in and odered it after I informed him that car audio remotes are available everywhere including those from Alpine, Panasonic etc and that I will exclude him from all responsibility if I decide to crash my car after I receive the remote.
