Going From Sirius to XM....
I just bought an 06 E55 today that does not have the factory installed Sirius radio, but the prior owner did install a Sirius unit in the ashtray. I don't care for Sirius at all, and I seem to recall reading on some forum that I could use the exact same antenna and just change out the unit for an XM one. Has anyone done this before?
There is zero chance I would pay $1000 + for the factory Sirius set up. I don't mind moving my finger an extra 10 inches to change channels.

Thanks in advance,
Todd

I prefer XM because I've always thought the signal was much better, without nearly as many drops as Sirius. I was also an early adopter of XM (in 2002) and was a very happy shareholder as the stock went from ~$3 when I bought it to ~$30 when I sold, compared to my experience with SIRI of buying at ~$7 and selling at ~$3. Plus, I know the XM lineup like the back of my hand and I already have my faves for every hour I'm in the car - I don't want to re-learn. Add to that the family plan pricing with our other 2 cars on XM and I'll even save a few bucks a month.
Thanks!
I have no idea what they'll do about programming.
