2003 SL500
Newbie with Questions...
Thank you for all of the information I've gleaned from surfing for a few hours - and thank y'all in advance for some answers to my newbie questions.
I just purchased a 2003 SL500 and am disappointed with the factory GPS system. Shame on me for not researching it beforehand - but I couldn't believe that a specific street address could not be entered! I was certain that I don't have current or local CDs.
Surfing this site leads me to believe that even with the most current discs - all that I can get is a RANGE of address on a particular street... is that really true ??
And how can I determine what disc I've got ?? I was further surprised when I ejected it to discover that it's a CD-R copy with no identity at all. (yea... should have ejected it before I closed the deal and brought the car home... sigh.)
And how can I get rid of the LAT LONG display at the top of the screen ??
And what's the consensus on aftermarket replacements ?? Which one offers the cleanest fit?
