Once you get a chance, would you test drive the MB OEM system at the same conditions and post your views.

On the CL, the COMAND display would be better available at the drivers view but still not good at all. Even the OEM Night View is a bit difficult to use when one needs to change between the "real" windscreen view and the monitor view, even if one only needs a minor move downwards.

To some extent it is possible to see objects when looking forward normally but identifying a deer from the COMAND display would ask for driving from the display view only, and that would pretty soon end up with a different accident. This is my opinion at least. But a good comparison of different products would really be interesting.

good idea, when i get up their this week sometime i'll talk to him in person and try and get a write up with pics and all if possible. i dont plan on using this as a Widnshield replacment but just in case its needed i can wip it out, i think ur right it would be too hard to use it as a main focus, u need your perefrials also.

No problem, I here you. I will be on it this week. I will be out of town for a few days then I will see if I can use my buddies S, he doesn't have a CL. I also have a few other ideas up my sleeve, but if you knew how much that FLIR camera was, it took some groceries off the table... i was considering re-using diapers for my infant toddler to save some money... j/k

Goliath, I will see what I can do, but I will be out of town for a while
