04 S class Bose audio adding aftermarket subwoofer
I want to add an aftermarket subwoofer to the Bose system in my 04 S55. I had the dealer disable the "autopilot" auto volume adjust and noise cancellation system. Does anyone know where to get a good signal from? I was hoping to find a full range signal. Also is there a good wire to tap for use as an amp remote turn on. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Will

you can do it all from the trunk. DEI makes this little remote turn on converter that can pull the turn-on from the speaker.
i tapped the signal also from the rear speaker via low level converter on an Audiocontrol EQX...boosted the now RCA cable to 8v using a phoenix gold line driver...send to aftermarket amp.
ive done two systems that way, one SPL and one SQ. i was really surprised by how clean they turned out. you cant tell it's a low level conversion to RCA on a sub. works very nicely.
