My 05 would play MP3 dvds. Is there a code of firmware upgrade to allow my 2008 to achieve this? Need my MPS/DVD. It was a great option to getting an ipod. Or did they do this so they could sell you that option. Any suggestions to an aftermarker conversion for ipod?

From everything I have seen, including my 08 E550, the DVD drive was removed; you can play MP3s from a CD in the head unit slot and see the folders etc on the Comand screen. You can also play MP3s in any or all of the 6 slots in the CD changer -- without the information appearing (or at least usable information appearing). I think this is a matter of the hardware not software. If someone could figure out a way to let a CD drive read a data DVD that would be great, but to my knowledge it has not happened.
