Window Tint and Stereo Question

I'm going to get my windows tinted and my installer is trying to upsell me the "ceramic" tint film. He says there is a possibility that the regular tint will interfere with my navigation and radio? Has anyone heard about this? My installer has a tendency to put on the hard sell, therefore I'm not quite buying it. I just want a regular tint ($350), as the ceramic tint is $550. I'm going with the $350 tint unless someone convinces me otherwise.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Yo, the audio system on the E63 done at Benchmark? Looks like their work to the T, minus the Alpine PDX amps they usually use.

No offense, you are paying for results and craftsmanship. You have some of the best fabricators in the NW under that roof, that is a big payroll, plus the building and facilities are first class. If they were to compare audio shops to vehicles, then they would be a Brabus tuned Maybach... Oh yeah, the gear isn't cheap either

i got regular tint and my nav is fine. I had huber optik ceramic film on my clk55 and it was great but getting tint here in WA is much more then Hawaii so I went with standard film and it came out fine.

Nav isn't an issue with window tinting, the GPS antenna isn't using the wires on the glass. Radio (TV) are using the window wires for an aerial and a metal based tint film would destroy the radio reception.

Ceramic sounds good, don't know if "standard" would have to be metal based, if not, it should work as well.
