6 speakers but only 4 speaker outputs?

6 speakers but only 4 speaker outputs?
soo, im trying to help my friend hook up his 1990 190e with a decent audio system. problem is, his car has 6 speakers, and most aftermarket head units have 4 speaker outputs. he really doesnt need to amp anything, he just wants something that sounds decent. anyway, i guess i have 2 options, tell me if i missed something
1. run the center and rear speakers in series and leave the front speakers to there own output(or some variation of this)
2. i was thinking that since the door(center) speakers are 6.5" and the fronts are 4" i could run the center and front speakers in parallel and throw some bass blockers(or some other frequency filter) on the 4" speakers.
any thoughts? thanks in advance
