Satellite Radio frequently loses signal
My '07 Bluetec with factory Sirius Radio cuts out very frequently. Most notably after driving under an underpass. The system will cut out after 8-10 seconds after I've traveled under the underpass for 5-8 seconds in duration. This problem is not limited just to underpasses though.
Additionally, I've noticed this happens more often in the afternoon on the 405 in Orange County, CA.
VERY frustrating. The Dealer/Sirius are no help.

You've got to have a direct-sight line to the satellite.
Underpasses interrupt this, but so do things like trees as the satellite isn't necessarily directly overhead.
In some large cities, Sirius has ground transmitters, as the tall buildings would shield signal all the time. Sounds like not in yours.
Nature of the beast

Sirius uses a special 3 sat elliptical orbital configuration that actually has 2 of 3 sats visible over the US at any given time. The reason for this was to provide better coverage even with obstructions. There are a number of ground repeaters in CA as well so you really shouldnt be having this problem. The reason that it cuts out after youve gone under the overpass is because sirius uses a buffer to keep music playing so the signal interruption may not be immediately noticible.
Anyway you need to check if this is a consistant problem or limited to specific locations. If you are getting consistant interruptions then it might be time to check the antenna.
