Unlocking motorola v60
They are larger than the older V60 models and require a newer, slightly larger, cradle.
The V60s does not have a SIM card. I don't know if it has a Transflash card, as the v710 does - which can be used to store photos and ring tones, which could then be transferred. A Transflash card does not perform all of the functions of a SIM card.

I have code that will get you into the "Unlock" menu of your V60 and allow you to set up another SID but that will not help ou as this technology is no longer being used, and ALL companies in the US refuse to activate a foreign (unbranded ) phone. to access the unlock on the V60 type:
Menu 073887* then if you know the SID of the new company, put that number in line 2 with the new phone number. THen just switch from line 1 to 2 and you are done. But as I said nobody does this in the US anymore since 2002 or 2003.
I used it to get local phone service in Honduras, but even TELCel and other companies have switched to SIM SO you are waaaay out of date but idea was nice though.
SIM chips are perfect for this.If you have an unlocked phone. BTW did you know that T-Mobile offers a 1 time unlock for any of their phones free of charge.. You many want to explore this route. This is why I am such a fan of T-mobile.
I keep an unlocked SIM phone with me when I travel abroad because it is easier and cheaper to get a local number where ever I am where unlike the US. most countries incoming calls are free even on prepaid SIMs. I just switch SIM cards and I am up and running.....
Verizon's entire network is CDMA, as is Sprint's and Virgin's. However, the older V60 versions lack the automatic GPS locator feature when a 911 call is placed ("911 Compliance"). The newest V60 model, the V60s, is 911 compliant and will work just fine on Verizon's network.
AWS does not provide a V60s model for Sprint. The only V60s that has firmware compatible with the Mercedes handsfree system and COMAND is the Verizon version. Without the compatible firmware (i.e., an "unlocked" phone), a V60s will not work with the Mercedes handsfree system.
So, if gellie has a V60s phone (all of which were CDMA) and unlocks it, the only alternatives he would have are Sprint and Virgin (and maybe some small carriers with local-only networks) if they would accept it - and he would lose the ability to use it as an integrated plug-in phone in his Mercedes.
