Standard headlight to LED conversion questions

Is there a way for my to wire LED bulbs into my current standard wiring for my current Side markers, and all my rear lights.

I have just regular bulbs in there now. But I want to convert to LED bulbs for my side marker, and for the rear lights. Its just something ive been thinking of doing. Trying to find out how dificult it is.

Is there a difference with the fuse?

I drive a 93 W201. I dont beleive I have anything special to my wireing as it is now. I just replaced the headlights and side markers with a black housing.

They make drop in LED replacement bulbs, thought I would advise against replacing your rear lights with LEDs. The LEDs do not shine in enough directions, or brightly enough to produce the same intensity as incandescent bulbs do, they will appear as dull colored dots instead of filling out the whole assembly. The problem will be further exacerbated with the black housings.

The fuse does not give a !@$%^&*&^%$#.

It is the circuitry that tells you your bulb is out. You need a resitor in parallel to fake out the electronics.

You can do this with makers, no problem. I do not think the optics will be a huge problem given the point source brightenss.

Sound good. I think maybe ill just do my side markers up front. Seems to be the easiest way to go.

I just looked at Ebay for plug and play type stuff. Seems like they have what im looking for as far as the side markers. Is the color amber, that orange color? Thats what I want. They have one thats super amber. Probably a really bright orangish color.

They also had a H3 fog light that was a pug and play LED. They look good from the pics. Might get those and just see how well they actually put light on the ground.

Thanks for the advice guys.

It's what Jon said above. Did you use resistors?

Someone wrote up a post on making the license plate lighting "look like the Lexus" using LEDs. There was a lengthy discussion on resistors, but I didn't bookmark it (I like my Benz to look like a Benz). You might check here and on Benzworld.
