Headliner access to rear E wagon tailgate

C320 CDI Estate, E500 4M Wagon
Headliner access to rear E wagon tailgate
I need to run some wires into my E tailgate - anyone have info on accessing the factory rubber wiring looms in the upper part of the headliner? We're having issues getting the headliner out...

maybe for parking sensors... I have seen it done without taking out the headliner which is a 4 hour job each way i believe... The way they did it was to run into the grommit from the liftgate into the car and then use a fish tool to pull the wires out of the access hole. To do this they only had to pop the back fastners on the headliner and bend it down about 2 inches...
