Bluetooth Question
I'm looking through the window sticker and it say's nothing about Bluetooth or anything to do with a phone. Car has P2 plus performance package.
what do I need to fit to use a Bluetooth system in the car, any help would be appreciated
Thanks
a) A black plastic "bump" which is a cover for the plug for the bluetooth dongle.
-Pop the cover off, inside is the connector... go to MB buy the $400 Bluetooth MHI Dongle, pair you phone, and done!
b) A black plastic plug or connector looking thing
-same as above, without cover poping
c) Nothing, just a flat panel with nothing on it... maybe a slight circle where the pop out should be if you would of had the connector factory installed
-Your SOL
... Dealer will prob charge $600 for kit+ $300 install + $400 for Bluetooth dongle... and its a 08, so that means nobody will know what to do... lolHope that helps..
All you have to do is decide
1. if you want a phone that plugs into a cradle and is charged by your car's electrical system and uses your car's antenna
0r
2. If you want a bluetooth module that plugs into your car and allows your phone to work without connecting your phone to anything in the car
or
3. If you want a "hybrid" system that allows you to sometimes plug your phone into the cradle and sometimes just to connect wirelessly using bluetooth.
You decide, then you buy the appropriate equipment. Your salesman should be able to explain it all and the folks at http://www.wireless4mb.com can, too.
I just picked up an '08 E350 and that's the puck in the E-class - I'm looking at the box right now.
It'll plug right into the back of the center console. Only takes a couple minutes to setup, and it works great in terms of performing as designed. Only things that are a little flaky are the "last called" numbers - that's never accurate. It connects to my blackberry 8830 every single time without fail, and downloads my entire address book every time.
