HELP: Iphone or Ipod Kit SL model
Members,
I have been searching all over the internet and getting a different answers about the Iphone or Ipod Kit. I own a 2005 SL55 and want to connect my Iphone so I can listen to the music. Does anyone know if this is possible? Is there a OEM kit for this?
And also, does the MB commend unit support mp3 disc?

An original equipment MB iPod kit or an aftermarket Dension Gateway 500 will allow you to connect your iPhone and play music. Your dealer can tell you if the can fit the MB iPod kit in your car. You can definitely add the Gateway 500.
You will have to switch to the phone mode on your iPhone to answer calls. It won't answer during music playback.
Your owner's manual should tell you whether your audio system supports the mp3 format. Look for it - perhaps under "supported formats" under audio, where it discusses the types of discs that can be played by whatever components you have.

skylaw, did you try the navTv interface yet for iPod with Most? Sure after about 5 seconds of using any ipod on the command screen you want to destroy the command screen... what was MB thinking... never mind, I know after the new C class, much better
