Don't Have Handsfree Wiring, need part #'s

As you see, there's a lot involved.
I don't have a phone bulletin for an '06, but if the '06 used the same equipment as the '05, then the new "Universal PSE" and the "Cradle eliminator" discussed at Post #4 could save you some money. In addition, if you live in an area having good reception, you may be able to skip the linear compensator and antenna switch, using the newer components.
I'm taking a guess, jumping from the '05 ML information to the '06 ML; so please provide us feedback, especially if I am wrong.
If the '06 ML differs, it probably has an MHI system. Post #5 in the "How To Guide" link deals with that, but again, I do not have the '06 ML phone bulletin to confirm.
In addition, if you truly lacked "pre-wiring" as discussed in Post #1 of the How-To Guide, you would need to add the wiring harnesses. Indeed, MB began eliminating the wiring harnesses for MY 06 in some cars, offering them as an option. However, two other options were required, in addition to pre-wiring: the "handsfree option," which provided the necessary electronics; and either a plug-in cradle, or a Bluetooth puck. Your dealer should be able to tell you specifically whether you have the harnesses in place. He should also be able to refer to the '06 phone bulletin for equipment.
