Question CENTRAL GATEWAY UNIT
Can someone tell me exactly where this GATEWAY UNIT is located in the S CLASS W220

I guess you were intentionally using the W211 parts figure. The W220 figure isn't a lot better:

But if I read right, the central gateway is included to cars built after 09/2002 only.

I did not find the accurate location for the car that does have it. The ground wire location is at the front of the passenger footwell (LHD car), it connects to some CAN bus connectors at the centre/top of the cluster. So it could be in the middle/bottom of the instrument cluster area of at the passenger footwell area.
