Engineering Mode Questions
Hi there, I entered the Engineering Mode in my 2004 E320 W211 and it worked so far with the combination of:
- Mute + End Call + Serv
- 3 + 4 + 7
I checked into Devices and it showed that I have a DVD-ROM. I also saw that by factory default it is on Region Free.
What's weird is that there is no mp3 settings to check nor the video in motion. I sure understand that I have a USA COMAND Unit and therefore I shouldn't be able to watch DVD's but why does it read DVD-ROM?
Also what does "Driver Distraction" with the options "On" and "Off" mean and what is is controlling?
Could someone please be so kind and explain that stuff?
Thank you!

The DVD-ROM notation may refer to your navigation DVD reader. DVD capability for DVD audio track playback and mp3 DVD capability was not provided in COMAND until 2005.
I believe the "driver distraction" option applies to the initial message you get when turning navigation on, warning you not to become distracted by the screen. You may possibly be able to turn that off.
