Cool To everyone in the UK with a COMAND

Tele Atlas have confirmed that in their 2003 Great Britain CD, that there will still be no TMC Codes and no plans yet now. All the other cars in the UK have them, even Toyota but not Mercedes. Can you all email them so they sort out their act. I have been waiting 3 years for this feature which no one can use still. Now more needed seeing good old Ken with his congestion charge for London.

Tele Atlas Email: service.centre@teleatlas.com

Also I wished they would categorise the restaurant by food type and have more useful info such as Banks, ATM's, etc... and more entertainments places (bars, cinemas, etc...) rather than Car Rentals, Tourist Stuff, etc...

Regards

N

Excuse the ignorance...

...but what are "TMC" codes?

By the way, given that in the UK we're lucky enough to get TV, check out the following link.

I take delivery of my SL55 in a couple of weeks and intend to get the TV to stay permanantly on purely for gadgetary reasons!

TMC Codes

It is meant to put various types of traffic symbols depending on severity of the traffic on the screen through Classic FM, to tell you where the traffic is and will calculate the route with the least possible traffic, and will constantly be updated even while on the move (I think). Then there is an advanced version of this called TCS which sends an SMS to the traffic monitoring company, for up to the second traffic updates. Not available in UK (I think).

See link:

http://www.itisholdings.co.uk/sc.html.

In otherwords like trafficmaster. Something we really need in London

Has anyone's dealer mentioned any news on this?

Ah, Nav-TV has come to the UK - good, they do seem to know more about COMAND then most other tech shops

Where are you in the UK. If you wait until the next GTG, i'll bring my software/laptop etc and allow people to type the magic command into my laptop for this to work for you :-) Its a 2 minute job .

Cheers

See below (FOR ALL IN UK)

Western Europe only covers main roads and I think details of major cities whereas the German CD has more detailed road information of Germany of course.

BTW Great Britain 2003 CD avalible now.

They faxed me a details,

You now get 100% house number entry for whole of Great Britain and Post Code entry for all of England.

£96

Please check before purchase, as they change their stories all the time.
