Hello, everyone:
I've been gone from the forum for quite some time, but have not forgotten how valuable a tool this is. I want to publicly thank the OP of this thread, blackcls63, for being so helpful. I was just able to open the key fob to my 1999 CLK320 Cabriolet. It's the first battery replacement in the 15 years I've owned the car. Yes...it's a garage queen with only 37000 miles, but it's the first Mercedes I've ever owned. I still remember the day I ordered it back in 1997 and when I took delivery in 1999. Thanks once again for your helpful DIY post.

Just a big thanks to the original poster! I've looked things up on here occasionally, but registered today just so I could say a big thanks. My car is now 11 years old and had the original batteries on both fobs. Even with the instructions it took me over 20 minutes to 'slide out' the battery compartment due to all the crud that got in that cracks. Without this I wouldn't have known I was doing the right things and to keep trying. Thanks !!!
