Can I clone my cell phone
Can my cellular phone be Cloned with the MB on board phone system. Almost got a ticket for talking & driving.
That way when I'm in the car I can turn off the cell phone & use the onboard & vice versa. If not I have to get a new cellular service line for the car.

If you have a digital phone the answer is no...if you have an analog phone (motorola) the answer is probably yes.

Here's what I got
I was told by the custom car shop to get the pertinent information from my cell phone service, which is on the MB form #S-2673-097 (cellular nam programming guide). Then bring that info back to them & they will program it to the on board Mb Mobile Phone. They gave two pages. I will scan them & post them in a few.

As far as I can tell, the pages that you display show how to program a cell phone number into a Mercedes Motorola Phone.
I think what the first message in this thread is referring to, and correct me if I'm wrong, is whether a non-Mercedes Motorola phone can be programmed to work with the Mercedes headunit, PSE, and all. The answer to that is absolutely not because it is special software in the Mercedes Motorola V60, Timeport, etc. phones that causes them to work with the headunit, the steering wheel controls and all.
I may be unclear on what you mean by cloning a phone, but without the appropriate software in the phone, it will not work with your Mercedes phone system.
NOTE: I note that you have a 1997 E320. The information above refers to later year Mercedes with fiber optic sound systems. I still think even the older Mercedes phones had specific software to cause them to work with the on-board systems.

It sounds like E3201997 wants his MB phone in the car, cloned to his newer portable phone.
I.e. so the two phones think they are the same, i.e same phone number etc etc.
If they are both analogue, that sounds possible.
Although Im rather surprised that the networks can't detect that - and disconnect the service ... The Cell network must release there are two phones with the same ID in the sam cell at least ..
In Europe you can get two sims on the same phone number for digital (GSM) phones - and you nominate which one takes the incoming calls (by dialing some number) - and if you phone someone else from either phone they see the your normal number - no matter which phone you are using.

Motorola from 99 CLK for sale.
I have the following from my 99 CLK:
1. Motorola cell phone (model:Q6820404)
2. instruction book
3. MBZ cradle
4. MBZ coil cord (from phone to interface plug & antenna)
I have removed them so I could use a V60 (though not with the MBZ interface).
e-mail me if intetested.....

Thats it!
Richard you seem to have understood my situation. Sprint PCS is my service here & we have ESN#s. What you have in Europe is what I want the phones to do (both to work with the same number). I have a phone system all hooked up in my car that i've never used because we have always had our cellular phone's. It is now Illegal to drive & be on a phone without the "HANDS FREE" devices. That would look awful in such a beautiful car (wires hanging everywhere). My question was if my cell phone could be copied onto the onboard system of the car so I can use it when driving. I've recieved many replies. I know my Sprint PCS phone is digital but it also runs in analog mode if neccesary. I have no idea if the phones in the MB are digital or analog. I will be going to this shop to see what they say. Even though I don't want to break any laws, I went & call my service provider & asked if they could put two ESN numbers to my same phone number they said no. I then told them that I found a company that will put two phones with the same number (I lied) & they got nervous about losing me as a client & offered me a seperate line (new phone number) for the car phone (mobile phone).Which would defeat the whole purpose since all my calls come into the other number. They then suggested to forward calls to the new number when I get in the car. Turns out that will cost extra money as well. Its pretty cool that they do that in Europe & armed with that information I will try to push that here in this country. Who knows, maybe somebody in this forum might know of such a company here in the U.S.A..
Thanks Again, I will post what happens!!!

I wanted the same thing for the same reasons a while ago. I found that some providers do have the technology to provide "party line" service, i.e. two phones with the same number on the same account. My provider is Verizon. When I asked about it a year or so ago, they did not offer the service in my area, but planned to offer it sometime in the future when their equipment was updated. They indicated that both they and their competitors currently offer it in some markets. If your provider does not offer it, I would suggest you call around and ask other available providers.
