Strange stereo problem after subwoofer install

So I finaly got around to installing my sub in my W209 CLK500 with the bose system. I tapped into the factory sub so I have both running. It all sounds great!! But what is strange, randomly the music quiets down and gets louder. Could it be the sensor that automaticly controls volume based on speed?

alot of people have had this problem and I had it myself..From what i was told and read, there is a Bose Ambient Noise sensing microphone from the Bose system that detects ambient noise..that causes the volume to go up and down and get really loud..I heard that you can have the microphone unhooked..I got lucky and just adjusted the ambient noise right from the factory options on my comand unit and it finally went away..good luck

Yup, I had a 2003 CLK55 W209 and I had to unhook the mic located in the dome light assembly right above the rear view mirror.
