MB phone setup for 2000 S500
My car has no factory phone setup, but I am interested in taking advantage of all the features available with the phone, especially voice commands of radio, etc.
What is the proper or best MB phone kit to install in my car, and is it difficult and approx. cost? Is this car pre-wired?
Thank you for your help.

The car is pre-wired. Your looking at approx $1700.00 for the entire kit. That is a uninstalled price. The kit quoted is the k2c (Motorola V60 with Voice activation). Be advised that there are "Some" 2000 S-Class vehicles that can not be upgraded to the V60, in which case, those vehicles would need to drop down to the TimePort phone.

Is the V60 the more modern version, and how can I tell if my 2000 S500 can use this? How much to install? Thanks

Or you could buy a Nokia 6310i (GSM phone), and the European Nokia 6310i parts and install that for a lot less
Search for an article by rgleason in this forum, he has done this in his
C class
Its relatively easy to install yourself, the controllers are under
the rear seat (which just unclips if you know how to release the clips),
and the pre-wire already in the centre glovebox
Cheers

V60 upgrade problem
My local MB dealer says there are problems upgrading the 2000 S class to V60 having to do with the antenna and resultant poor reception. Also, they said that the car will not be able to take full advantage of the V60 capability, only that of the previous Timeport.
Is this true, and if so, what are the features differences?
Thanks
