Itronic - Anyone else having these issues?
I had Itronics Bluetooth and IPOD Kit installed in my car (06 E55) and I'm not happy with it.
1. The address book only goes up to 256 entries - for me that only goes up
to the middle of the O's
2. The IPOD section is clumsy - the "OK" button on the command which
is "Enter" for everything else is not enter for the ITronic
3. General Navigation of the IPOD section is not intuitive - things do not
generally make sense.
4. Disconnecting one phone to activate another requires turning the car off,
letting the whole electronics system go to sleep, restarting the car and
then connecting to the other device. Not something to do when you're
driving.
Is this how this unit was meant to operate? I am now considering having this removed and going with the NAV-TV version which for one has a 1000 address book limit.

I have an 06 E320 CDI and was going to go with the itronics as well but found a great vendor not to far from me that installed a MBZ factory BT and iPod unit, they also installed in the voice control system.
It was a little more expensive than the itronic but felt in the long run, factory is always better. I have over 1800 contacts in my iPhone so it only loads to the R's not sure what the capacity is but I knew that going in. The bluetooth works great, pairs flawlessly and the voice control is awesome.
The factory iPod interface is very good. You have to get used to how it operates. I am happy with the decision to go this route. Sorry to hear about the problems with the itronics.
