Sirius (The Easy Way)

I just came across a very simple solution to the problem of adding Sirius Satellite Radio to my SL500 -- the Stilleto. I simply connect the Stilleto to the AUX line of the factory radio, and voila, end of story.

The Stilleto can record 7.5 hrs of music via its WiFi or Sat Antenna(s), so I can always leave it recording my favorite station(s) the night before, all it needs is a WiFi hot spot or a clear view of the sky.

When driving the SL500, if I don't like the recording, then I just put the Stiletto on top of dashboard for live feed via Sat Antenna.

I found a better way, add a factory tuner... all controls on the steering wheel and comand work, and there is no little goofy box sitting on your dash, air vents, center console etc...
after all it isn't a miata

Yea and you can be the person that just spent $1,200.00 for a tuner that cost less than $100.00 for most other cars.....Like P.T. barnum said...there's one born everyday!

thats really not a fair asessment but it always seems to pop up: I remember we used to get this lexus salesman who would come by and size up whatever mercedes we were working on against a particular lexus model and it was always like the guy was trying to convince even himself that it was a valid comparison.

But it wasnt: the lexus might be cheaper and even have more features but its still a lexus and *not* a mercedes.... A honda shadow is cheaper but its *not* a Harley Davidson. A type 56 is just a cheap knockoff of an AK-47 and that itself is nothing like an M16...

and the $100 low end xm/sirius tuner that you pick up at best buy is *not* the same as the mercedes factory tuner. Theres a difference between buying the nicer and cheaper versions of something. I dont think it makes anyone a 'sucker' just because they want the nicer version and are willing to pay more for it.

The Stilleto sits out of sight, tucked away in the small fishnet pocket by the passenger's left foot. The unit senses voltage on or off from the cigarette lighter and powers accordingly. Sirius channels can be changed by the Stiletto's remote control. The Stilleto also has Gigabytes of personal MP3, and/or special programming recorded through Sirius WiFi channels.

When MB provided the AUX input, they foresaw new technologies being used in creative ways. Of course, one can always throw money at everything, avoid the hardest thing in the world ..., to think.
