Mercedes Service Update W211 589 11 22 00 (US) or older

Hey guys! I need an update disc for my E55.

W211 589 11 22 00 or any other older one that allows mp3 playback.

for the US Comand System.

I tried to look for it on the web but no luck. My comand unit is kinda stuck right now and I need to update it to something immediately because otherwise the battery is gonna' be drained by Monday morning when I can take it to the dealer.

I would really appreciate any links or if you want me to PM you for it.

Thanks ahead of time.

The service update disc is less than $20 at dealer.

That's not the problem....the problem is that my Comand Unit is staying on the whole time even when the car is shut off ....stuck in the Update Mode. If I wait until tomorrow, the battery will be "totally" drained.

I need to update it to something where I won't lose my functionality either (engineering menu and backdoor menu)

You are adding "requirements" once you get your first request solved, not really fair. You cannot have the update done and maintain the engineering mode. Put a charger to the car if you don't want to pull the fuse and possibly loose the option to update it.

Next time study carefully what you can do before playing with the car electronics.

Okay guys thanks for the criticism/help!?!? Anyways, I just updated the system to W211 589 14 22 00 (which is the latest firmware..besides W211 589 15 22 00). Now I need to downgrade to get the backdoor menu to be functional. I can still access Engineering Menu (which access to is different from prior firmwares).

Now that the immediately situation is solved, once again, my question would be, does anyone have or can help me get the origianally requested part... W211 589 11 22 00.

---As a side note, I am fairly good with Mobile electronics and software upgrades/downgrades. I've been making my own Custom payloads and firmwares for Windows Mobile and Android for a while now and am fully aware of updating and formating flash memory and its consequences. I just did not want to upgrade to the latest firmware which was available on the web (through the usual sites) and then have to downgrade. But guess, i didn't have any other options. With the right tools, I could probably create a custom firmware for the comand unit...its just that i can't really figure out how to bypass the security check that the unit performs prior to replacing a firmware (i.e. wrong variant) without the proper tools.
