Navigation wont display streets
I just bought a E55 couple days ago and has the 2005.1 DVD disc. Some reason, it is not showing any of the streets that are in my neighborhood plus the main roads. I living in a different county and would not think that could be a factor. My home was built in 1993, same with the neighborhood. There is a new development, built in 2001ish and it is showing on the map. Anyone know why that is occuring? Seems kind of odd to me.

Does it display streets elsewhere ? If so the nav disc is just old - relaize these lag behind significantly. You may be able to go to Navteq and see if you're included in their DB
Look for street names on the multifunction display.
Hardly any anywhere are displayed on the COMAND screen.
When you verify the names aren't displayed on the multifunction display, then and only then will you know they aren't on the DVD. NONE of this is a malfunction.

no question is stupid, i'm still learning the car and appreciate any help. It is zoomed as far as it can go. After I select a city ,it asks to select a street, when I start to type in my street, the letters to finish the name are grayed out and I can't finish it. When I select list, only 2 streets show for Modesto, Ca that begin with R. I checked the wifes Escalade and there are over 20 streets that begin with R. I guess they didn't put them on the disc.
Ah, I misunderstood.... I thought it wasn't displaying on the map which is why I suggested the zoom. That is strange that the disc doesn't list the streets. I know there are threads around that give the latest version information on the Nav DVD. Perhaps eject the disc and see what version you are running. I would think the dealer should take care of that if they have the wrong DVD in there. Good luck!
