Becker 1492 upgrade
I went to a local salvage yard today and picked up a fairly clean Becker 1492 that is destined for my 87 E300D 2.5T. But the owner's manual, hence the code, was gone. Bummer. So I need a code for my new radio. SN : R1120235.
TIA,
Collin

Hi Collin, This is my 1st post ever. I don't know if this is right way to do it. I bought a becker BE 1492 from ebay, and of course need the code for it. The serial # is R1112064. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks, Frank Richards

I just called the dealership. They asked me about my ownership of the unit and I explained about they upgrade. The parts man was kind enough to give it to me.
Interestingly, there was a piece of software I found that would generate the code, but it got the 1st digit wrong. I suspect this was the case because it only required the last four digits of the s/n. But that could narrow it down to 10, were I to understand that at the beginning. It was "becker_5.exe". So if you can't get it for free, perhaps narrowing it down to 10 choices will get it done quickly for you.
