Bluetooth in a 2003 c230
Hi all,
I have a 2003 c230 and I want to upgrade my stereo so that I can have bluetooth for my phone. I fell in love with this when I was using a courtesy car while mine was in the show. Is it possible to take a newer MB stereo and put it in my car so that the phone option works? Or do I have to go aftermarket?

Don't bother with upgrading the whole system. If you do not have COMAND, you can install a COMAND unit for D2B, NOT for MOST (the two different kinds of fiber optics busses). However, that will not give you Bluetooth. Newer 3rd party units from Kenwood, Alpine and Pioneer would replace your entire system and give you a modern nav system as well as Bluetooth, but they're expensive.
See https://mbworld.org/forums/audio-ele...ml#post2788377 for how to get Bluetooth capability; equipment will be the same for Canada as for the U.S., but unfortunately the AWS compatibility lists for phones is just for U.S. carriers. I don't know which Canadian phones/carrier firmware are compatible with the V60 Bluetooth puck.

Ouch that system at cartronice sounds great but by the time I'm done I'll spend over a grand just to talk on the phone. Those Bluetooth fm transmitters are sounding better and better.

Alternately you could go with a Parrott system (for example) that would utilize no display or a small screen that needs to be mounted separately for ~$300 - 500 installed, but no downloading of the phone book to your command system.
If you want an integrated system you will need to go with the factory upgrade (~$1200,), Aftermarket complete replacement such as Pioneer or Kenwood (1200 - 2000) installed, the Cartronics system (~$750) or Parrott for around $300 - $500.............Did I miss anything???
