Non Mb Phone Question
Hello All. I am new to this fourm. I have a 2003 ML 350 with the "Inspiration Package". I would like to install a hands free phone, (either a non-MB V60 or a T68i with bluetooth) The factory unit certainly is cool being able to go through the MCS, but if I don't get the factory phone, can either of these phones mute the radio? I have the Bose option. Thanks.

Motorola makes a hands free kit for the v-60 series (Known as the professional hands free kit) that has a radio mute interface/output. I have used these in autos that have a mute input on thier audio systems. If your stereo has a mute input / trigger, this will work. when you use your phone or a call is coming in, the audio system will mute.

does anyone have the pinouts for what the command wires are. I install a timeport hands free kit but have yet to find out which wires I need to connect for the MB MICROPHONE, speakers, and mute from the hands free box to MB command wireing harness.

All the handsfree car kits have an option to mute the radio, usually a handsfree kit has Yellow wire which connects to apropriate wire in the radio harness. I do not remember exactly which wire in ML harness does that function (I think grey, but do not quote me). When you make the phone call the radio goes in TeleAid mode - black screen with Mute on the middle and TeleAid in the corner. I am using Ericsson HCA-20 car kit with T68i phone.
