Power surges in speakers
i have an 04 c230 sport and ive had a pair of 12" pioneer subwoofers installed along with a diamond d400.1 amp. Usually, it works pretty well, leaving me the ability (although i do not, because i recognize it is annoying) to set off car alarms from roughly six parking spaces away. Occasionally however, it will simply cut down as if i have neither the speakers or amplifier installed, and then come back on as if someone had just turned them back on. The amplifier and subwoofers are out of my older car, although they are only a month or two old, and they worked fine in there. A friend of mine said these issues could be because the amp is heating up a bit and trips off to avoid overheating that would cause damage to both the amp and the speakers, but i was simply wondering if anyone else had similar issues or any plausible solutions. Thanks in advance.

probably thermal or overload protection on the amp, which could be caused by poor installation, bad woofer, or improperly set gains (poor installation)

any chance that the fact they installed it to the back wall against the seats in my trunk is doing it? seems like a terrible place to get the heat off the amp.
