Megacomm adapter
The US comand does NOT support TV features unless you had it reprogrammed...
greetingz,
I have access to somebody with the MB laptop command programmer. The question is, is this something that can be easily programmed or the solution is to have to get Euro command unit?
Thanks
Can somebody with Megacomm adapter for Command 2.0 confirm the wire color and pin position on the bigger black connector (stecker C2) from the adapter. There currently 5 wires going into the black connector (thick yellow=pin18, thick purple=pin17, thin yellow=pin?, thin red= pin? and ground wire=pin?
Thanks

How extensive is the reprogramming?

I found from a website which listed the pin designation that pin 2 = "NF TV re", pin3= "NF TV GND" and pin11= "NF TV li". I guess they must be sound input (right, left and ground) for TV. So I am soldering the thin red to pin 2, thin yellow to pin 11 and the bare metal wire to pin 3.
We'll see if this work this afternoon.
WRT to the speed sensor, if the above work, I guess we will see also if we can deactivate the speed sensor somehow. My concern is that the speed sensor is also used by the Comand unit for volume adjustment wrt to speed.

However when all is connected, adapter getting input from a Sony dig. camera, the picture is out of sync but the sound is good. The problem looks like a PAL to NTSC conversion. The picture looks like when you put a PAL recording to a NTSC monitor. I guess this multimedia adapter (since bought in Europe) is expecting PAL signal feed but getting NTSC feed from my dig.camera.
So, I do not know if anybody have any idea out there how to solve this out of sync situation. I am going to try a NTSC to PAL converter and then feed the PAL signal to the adapter to see if this is indeed the case.

Hope someone out there is working on this!
I need TV in my car NOW!!!!!!
I would think that if anyone can figure out a way to hack or make an adapter for the US COMAND unit to successfully pick up TV signals they would make tons of money. I know a lot of people who would want this feature in their car and would pay top dollar for it.
Hope someone out there is working on this!

Hi
Anyone know if we can get this adapter in uk
Also, megacomm.de sells the adapters (or maybee one sells one, and one the other) Of course, the sites are in german, but altavista's translation stuff will help you

How did that project of yours go where one had to assemble or purchase the connectors into the Canbus system and download the program you made to enable the TV to work while driving? Have you tweaked it so that it is easily done? I'm interested in doing this sometime in the future as I think its probably impossible that the dealerships here have the older STAR program that will enable the TV to run while driving. Thanks..

Just order it from audiocomp.info in germany. If you have a RGB source, then buy the RGB one, its much cheaper than the Pal composite version (since it doesnt have to convert to RGB)

I have a centurion cen-270 portable dvd player that will be set up in back for the kids. I want to connect this through the comand screen so that the front passenger can watch and listen to the audio through the speaker system.
The outputs from the player are composite and S video. What part do I need and will this allow the audio to go through the comand system.
Thanks for your help
