Hi.
I recently bought the MP40 from Germany, and innstalled it according to the instructions. But my Audio 10CD won't activate it... The display reads "NO CDC" when cdc-button is pressed. Since I already have an integrated telephone, I bought the xtra fibre to expand the D2B. So the bus now goes from Audio10 ->Telephone (in trunk) ->MP40 ->Audio10.
The +12V and Wake-up is tested to ground, reading 12,4-12,8 Volts each.
Furthermore, when I disconnect the D2B connector from my MP40, the red fibre flashes a second when ignition is turned on and off. So the D2B seems ok.
The funny (or annoying...) thing is that it worked ONE time... My E200 stood still for a couple of days, and the next time I fired it up, I pressed the CDC-button just to check, and it played loud and clear!!! After 10-15min I stopped the car for 10 min, fired it up again, but now the MP40 was dead again...![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
As far as I can see, I need to get a hold of an Audio 10 maybe... To exchange it with my original for testing.![Confused](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
Any other tip on how I continue with fault location? I think I've covered it all, but any help would be appreciated.![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Thanks! :-)

Any progress
I suffer from the same problem.
Connected the Mp40 to my APS30, checked
It played for 20s. It has been dead eversince.
The supplier did not have any answers. So I shipped it back for a check.
Did you already solve it?

Yups, I've solved it! :-D
Simply by bypassing the freakkin' telephone... I never use it anyway.
Just thought it would be nice to have it connected and working since it's already there. :-)
So now I only have D2B between my Audio10 & MP40.
I don't have any good answer to your problem... Have you checked the D2B from your APS? The red fibre should flash 3-4 times when you're turning on & off ignition. Other than that, it's worth checking 12V & wake-up on the 3-pin power connector.
Hope you get it right sometime soon. :-)

I already tried what you did (disconnect the phone), but that didn't work either.
Actually I still use the phone, even got me an old nokia to fit the cradle. Works perfect.
I did check power cords and saw the fibre optics blink.
So I think I have to wait to get an answer from Germany telling me the unit I got was defect and that he will send me a new one.
Thanks for the reply.

Ok, I figured that you'd already tried my suggestions. :-)
But if all is ok with the D2B & Wake-up, the problem is most likely with the player, I would think.
Anyway, I'm very satisfied with the product, it plays very nice, and your whole music collection is in that tiny little box. Nice!![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
And again, hope you get it right soon.
