LCD Screen Replacement Part

HI All,

I live in Vancouver, Canada, and was wondering where to find replacement parts for a friends Broken LCD Screen.
The Comand Unit is in a 2008 ML320 cdi.
Just the LCD is broken.

Everything else works fine.
Went to a local Autowrecker, and he only had 1 in stock.
tried it in the car, but No sound and top DVD would not eject....does that mean, it need programming to the vehicle's CANBus.
or the replacement comand unit from the wrecker was damaged.
he wanted 800.00.

I also took out the comand unit to a authorized repair person and he opened it to see if he can get a part # from the unit and it came up as:
LQ065T5GG23

Anyone know where I can pick this up.
found someone on e-bay, but will it work?
300 is steep for an LCD....should be 150 to 200 max.

The ebayer stated it is a sharp Product.....hmmm
sharp, does not recognize this Pat Number.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

No Parts

I greatky appreciate your response, But this Replacement Parts PDF does not point me to where to purchase LCD itself only.
It may provide a Link to purchase the Command unit but that will be very high priced compared to an LCD only.

Google "MBDoctor" (somewhere in NYC), asking them the cost of LCD screen replacement. They (MBDoctor) are the only source of MB LCD screen repair that I know off. You have to send the unit to them, they will send it back after repair. It's a lot cheaper than replace the whole unit, which MB dealer recommand. Good luck.

WTF....
MB Doctor = No Return Calls.
399 for the screen that they sell....LOL

When I finish repairing Mine....then I will tell you a solution and source, that will make you Thank twice about MB Doctor.

why don't you look for an accredited Car Deck Repair facility...Near yourself.
they will do it for you...and you will Not get a ripped off price from MB World.

PS: I found the LCd with exact Part number for 300, including delivery to canada.
it is costing me 75.00 to put it in the deck.
and MB doctor's LCD Price starts at 399.00
You can't post any questions on his blank Forum anyways.

The W220 S-Class Owners Start Here sticky in the W220 forum (see post #36) provides several sources (MBDoctor being one if them). If you tried to reach MBDoctor over the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday, you would likely not get return calls.

Good luck to you in fixing your LCD screen, I am not a customer or have any relation to MBdoctor (I am in CA, MBdoctor is in NYC), I am just give you some leak to fix the LCD, rather the replace the whole NAVI unit. It seem that you are very smart in electronic to fix it (LCD) yourself, that's good. Other MBW members had use MBdoctor to fix the LCD screen, rather $4-5000 at the dealer to replace the whole unit. I do not need any help or any source from you to fix anything, my cars are good. Beside, NOT many MBW members are tinkering with MB electronics when they have a problem like you. You have to pay to play. So be it, I do not have anymore to say with this thread, period.

LCD Screen Part #

The Part Number is:
LQ065T5GG23

The Comand Unit is: CMS BB 0630

I found it on Ebay for 300.00
only 1 seller has it.
Bought it, Installed it and it is working 100%.

Total was just under 400.00

But I rebuils Cars, and only BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus.
So quite often I have to replace decks that are damaged but stock units can be very expensive, so trying to source a supplier to reduce cost.

For the record, this part should have been 125 at the most and that is what I am looking for.

Does anyone have a source.

Mr. Benz, look forward to your reply.

Take Care

Hi Darknemesis1,

my dealer responded back stating "poor MB #'s".
Are these MB original part numbers?

Otherwise...please advise as to which year and model you're after .

There are ZERO Mercedes parts numbers for replacement parts for COMAND units.

Entire units are available through the remanufactured parts system, however.

LCD Parts and what not

First off, I appreciate the responses from all.
mr.mbenz and lkchris.

You are right, the Part Number I provided is no where to be found with Mercedes at all.

This Part Number is a Electronic Part number from (I assume) SHARP.
Not 100% sure.

This Part Number is directly from the screen of a 2008 ml320cdi.
meaning - I had a electronic repair guy take the Comand Unit (MB Radio) apart to get the part # of the LCD Screen ONLY.

Then went nuts over the internet to source it.
MB Doctor had it for a rediculus price along with some other more expensive repair shop in south California....starts or sounds like L. or starts with L.
total rip off at 799.

So, I order the one from ebay.
Contact this guy, he help me...
he may be able to help you....I am sure I will be contacting him in the future.

Mods and admins, I apologize if I posted contact info in a thread.

I am in same situation. I have 2008 gl with cracked LCD. I believe I have same navigation as yours and the LCD from sharp is available for 250. My question is how difficult is it to open up LCD and is it direct plug in?

I m pretty hands on and have repaired ipad by following instructions. Without instructions I am not confident .

Any help is very much appreciated..
