Sorry, I should have ask the question in another way. I was just wondering if you have any KG circuit boards that aren't working so I can replace the SMD inductor on mine. My Key still unlocks doors and starts the car, just the keyless go doesn't work to start the car like it used too.

So I bought this key from ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/Replacement...53.m2749.l2649
With the main idea of getting the induction coil and soldering it onto my key without one. Unfortunately, it didn't have the correct induction coil.

I did see it did have a 30pin chip the same dimensions as the nec chip with the numbers F9234. Although I don't see the other larger chips (AMS and what not) on the board. Think it would be worth a try to switch chips?

If you're looking for parts for your key fob you need to find the FCC / IC ID on your fob on the battery insert and buy the same. This way you get the same as your original. Some fobs / cars have Keyless go like mine and some don't. they are different internally.

Does anyone know if the complete circuit boards for these two fob types are interchangeable (this is for a CLK550)?

The reason I ask is that the Mercedes logo fell off from one of my fobs (Version 1), but Version 1 is difficult to find used; Version 2 is a lot easier to find. I just want to take out the circuit board from my original fob (Version 1) and pop it into a new one (Version 2). I don't need to swap the ROM chips or anything.

Thinking of the fact that many that have replaced to the facelift "chrome" smart key saying that the facelift chrome key feels more solid with the metal chrome.

The old all plastic black smart key and the new facelift chrome key are identical in the fact that they both are made of plastic i guess. The chrome part of the facelift chrome smart key are chromed plastic i guess but i will not say it for sure

Alright, maybe you guys can help me out here.

So a while back my car randomly wouldn't start. Saw that the Transponder coil was damaged. I eventually got the Rounded Panic version chrome key off of ebay, and had a professional microsolder the chip in.

The key unlocked my doors just fine, but doesn't work on the ignition (nothing happens when I place the key in.)

I tried pressing the buttons to see if I can see an IR signal from y Phone's camera and didn't see any...but I assume there is one if I can unlock/lock the doors.

Maybe a fuse is bad? which fuses would I check? Any help would be great.

EDIT. IR does work with face cam and not back camera

The unlocking of the doors is RF ( radio frequency) and so is keyless go. When my only key quit working I was super freaked out because I live a 100 miles from the closest MB dealer. Search for my post about reflowing the solder of the remote, it saved my @ss. My remote now works. Give it a whirl, what do you have to loose.

Circuit boards are diff shaped, and then there's a long rectangular coiled piece (my apologies for all the technical jargon lol) that keeps you from being able to close the case IF you are able to get the old chip to sit right. I ground down the inside area at the neck of the key that was causing the obstruction, got it all together, verrrrrry proudly- only to find the metal key insert is designed different and is not a clean swap (found a YouTube vid of a dude who shows you how and what to shave down on your key to retrofit but didn't try it) and buttons didn't totally line up for 100% functionality. Not worth the fuss.
