Need help with door for cd changer compartment
I have a 2003 E500. I have installed an Alpine XM radio controller in the storage space between the radio and the ashtray, which is accessed by a mechanical door. You open the door by pushing a button, and you can close it that way, too, but it will close itself after about 30 seconds.
Does anyone know if there is a way to set the door so that it will not close automatically? I would love to be able to leave it open.

Last week I emailed MBUSA.com with this question. I just got their response--that it is not possible to reset the door to stay open. Not what I wanted to hear, but they did back to me promptly.
