COMAND not turning on
I just got my car today that I bought at an auction. 2007 c230
The car has a COMAND nav unit, but for some reason it isn't turning on.. the screen stays black at all times.
Between the gauges on the dashboard it shows "nav wait" when the car is turned on and about a minute later "nav" with four dashes underneath
Does the dealer need to enter some sort of code?? will they do it free of charge??
If not the code, what can it be?? a fuse?

3 dashes means no communication over the can bus line. does it look like the screen has power? I have seen a few comands go black that have the modified av input ribbon harness modification, and i also seen quite a few die honorably
