hooking up an Apple iPod
There are devices that plug into cassette players and others that use FM signals, but I was hoping for something better (and somewhere I thought I heard that MB has some way of directly connecting) ?
Thanks!
Any suggestions as to how one might hook up an Apple iPod (basically an MP3 player) to play through the speakers of an MB ?

If you have MB with Comand 2.0 then it would have aux input jack inside the glove compartment which can be easily connected to the output jack of the Ipod.

However, I had no use for the factory phone so I removed it and have wondered if there were a way to locate the audio-in wires in the phone cabling and tap an iPod into them. Then, in theory, setting the receiver to phone could allow the iPod to play.
I know it's a stretch, but I'd attempt it if I could find specs on the cables.
Anyone have a connector diagram?
put it in the glove box and forget about it..

look up a product called iRock @ http://www.myirock.com
put it in the glove box and forget about it..
I also believe that the phone is a Mono input only, so sound quality would be significantly inferior to the radio transmitter option.

Agree with that. Also check on the Belkin which is smaller.

Mono. Of course you're right. Being an R129 SL I have no glove box, but I'll work it out. Griffin Technology just released a new similar unit that may be the best of the bunch. www.griffintech.com
