my 03 SL has the aux input in the glove box. and you just hit SVC button and go to aux. you just need a connecting wire from the ipod to the aux input and wallah! 1200 extra songs!

This is the best setup! Forget CD's and radio ![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
For owners of Mercedes' without an Audio input, Belkin has a great iPod add-on. It's an small (obviously wireless) FM transmitter. Plug it in the iPod and tune the radio to one of the 4 selected frequency choices. Voila...
$30 and you can put the iPod into the center console or anyplace else.

How do you change songs/albums when iPod in glove box? I found that quite inconvinient. Why I can't control iPod from COMMAND? It looks like Mercedes and Apple engineers should seat together.

For me, the Aux input is all I need to connect my iPod without sacrificing sound quality like you do with FM transmitters.

In my '03 clk430a, I have run a patch cord
from my player(pjb100-very similar to ipod)
to the jack in the glove box, and go to aux
on the nav screen. The consistency of the
material on the glove box door is rubbery
enough to allow you to close the door w/o
crimping the patch cord wires, and pops
back into shape once you disconnect the
player. I went to radioshack and opted for
the 2 meter cord, with gold plated ends.
This way, the player can sit anywhere I
want to place it. It's awesome being able
to bring 900 of my favorite cds with me,
especially since there's no loss in sound quality when connecting through the glove
box jack. I am hopeful that this arrangement will work on my e500 as well.
Hope this was helpful...
