Sirius retrofit
I was at the C Spot Drive party on saturday at Fedex Field in DC and I noticed that they were using the good ole Tape deck head unit that comes in all of the C class 02+ for satellite radio reception. Its the Exact same head unit but I assume they just modded the software to allow for the text display to show the song title and station name.
Anyone thought of a way to retro fit this? will the 04 C class have sirius in them? if so I would assume a command software upgrade would do the trick for it being an option.
Thanks
Ensey

The 04's are supposed to get Sirius capability at some point, but not necessarily at the start of the model year. I doubt that a simple software update will enable Sirius reception in existing cars. A Sirius receiver will be needed, and while the headunit may look the same, I think it will need to be changed.

I would think that all you would need is a reciever and the proper pin out to the back of the head unit and to just update the software to accomidate. Its just taking in a either FM signal or a digital signal similar to the db2 fibre off the cd changer.
