Stereo won't turn on with car - C300
Hey Guys,
I have a 2009 MB C300. I have been working on installing a sub in my car and I am pretty much finished but for some reason when I was messing with my Ipod the stereo turned off. Now I am only able to turn the stereo on/off manually. It will not turn on/off with the key.
The wiring diagram that I found online says that the Radio was fuse number 26 and 84 but that was for a 2008. I checked those and they are fine.
Plese let me know if you guys can help me.

seems it isn't getting the signal from the CAN BUS system. Might need to disconnect the battery and let sit for a few minutes. Hope you didn't tag any of the CAN wires

I unplugged the positive and negative leads to the battery for a few hours and when I finally put them back on there was no change. It didn't seem to have any effect on anything. Even my tripometer still showed the correct mileage.
When I was driving around today it kept telling me that if I did not start the car that the radio would shut off in 3 min. It was as though the radio was not recognizing that the car was running.

How would I "tag" a CAN wire with the ipod integration kit? the Ipod cable goes to the primary box of the integration kit, then runs to the deck then any information would be sent from there.
If it is the CAN BUS what would I have to do to fix it? I also realized that my steering wheel controls will not control the stereo even when I turn it on manually. It is almost as though the stereo is a completely seperate system from the car but still transmitting to the speakers. Kind of like a aftermarket deck without a remote wire conected.

disconnect the ipod connector harness, put the most cable back in to the harness and then plug back into the comand then check if everything works without the ipod.
I have seen many many many things go wrong with a vehicle when someone takes a project on their own... I wasn't there nor did it, just trying to help from a MBworld post.
