was curious what parts it would take to get satelite radio keeping everything factory on my 05

 

you need the tuner some had prewire for it in the trunk right side, if not you will need power plug, aftermarket antenna, and some fiber. I did a few of these back in the day and some required programming via the sds to make it work. however, if you add this, do not get the best of packages, as the oe tuner can not parse the info correctly and locks up

 

i think my car has the button on the radio for it.

When I checked into purchasing the OEM tuner the MB Parts Manager said that MB no longer makes/stocks the OEM Satellite Tuner because of the channel limitations the OP talked about.

My question is, what current SiriusXM tuner can I add to the MOST system in place of the OEM tuner? What interconnects and antennae will I need? I have an 05 CL55 that has the SAT button but no tuner. Is there anyone in the NY, NJ, CT, MA, NH area that can install this for me? (Dealer wants nothing to do with it.)

Or, is my only recourse to find a used OEM tuner and a limited subscription? What would the OEM tuner part number be for the CL55?

Because we have an '13 GLK we get a deal on a second subscription and I've come to like the lineup and quality in our rural area where FM is nonexistent.

Calling SiriusXM tech service is a fool's errand.

navtv.com has a sirius tuner that is aftermarket, but again, parsing the info is an issue.

cd changer? whats that 8 track?

I say gut it get one out of a junk yard, probably still has the subscription on it
